If you or your clients are experiencing issues with margins being squished or too small, tables running off the page, or words overlapping in your downloaded timelines, this guide will help you resolve these formatting inconsistencies.
Cause of the Issue
The formatting inconsistencies you’re seeing are likely due to the copy-and-paste process in the original template. When text is copied from an external source and pasted into the timeline, it can retain its original formatting, which might not align perfectly with the timeline’s layout, causing it to act a little funky 🥴.
How to Fix the Formatting
Option 1: Use the "Paste and Match Style" Feature
This feature will paste the text while adopting the formatting of the surrounding content in the timeline.
Cut or Copy the Text:
Select the text you want to include and cut or copy it.
Paste and Match Style:
Right-click in the timeline editor where you want to paste the text.
Select the "Paste and Match Style" option from the context menu.
This should ensure that the pasted text adopts the timeline's default font and formatting.
Option 2: Clear All Formatting
If you don’t see a "Paste and Match Style" option, you can still fix the formatting by clearing all formatting after pasting.
Paste the Text:
Paste the text into the text box in the timeline editor.
Clear Formatting:
Highlight the pasted text.
Click on the symbol to clear all formatting.
This will strip any external formatting and apply the timeline’s default styles.
