Guide to exporting timelines: download PDF, email PDF to collaborators, or text a link. Follow our easy step-by-step instructions!

As a planner, you have multiple options to export or download a timeline from Timeline Genius. Here’s a quick guide on the various methods available:

1. Download the Timeline PDF

Easily download a PDF version of your timeline for printing or offline access.

How-to:

  • Open a Timeline: Navigate to your timeline in the Timeline Genius dashboard.

  • Access Timeline Actions: Click on "Timeline Actions."

  • Select Download: Click "Download."

  • Choose Files and Format: Select the files you want to download and choose the format (PDF or Word Doc).

  • Download: Click "Download." If you select multiple files, they will download as a ZIP file. If you download a single file/timeline, it will download in the format you selected.

2. Email the Timeline PDF to Collaborators

Send the timeline directly to your clients or team members via email within Timeline Genius.

How-to:

  • Access Timeline Actions: Within your event’s page, locate the 'Timeline Actions' section.

  • Select Email: Click on the 'Email' option to start the process of sending your timeline.

  • Choose Recipients: Specify whether you want to send the full timeline or a tailored version. For example, you might choose to send it to your cake baker, Cammie.

  • Compose Your Message: Write a personalized message to accompany the timeline. Include a greeting, event details, and your signature.

  • Send: After composing your email, click 'Send.' Cammie will receive the full and tailored timelines for the event.

3. Text a Timeline Link to a Collaborator

Quickly share the timeline with collaborators via text message for instant access.

How-to:

  • Collaborate Tab: Head over to the collaborate tab.

  • Select Recipient: Click the gear icon and choose the person to receive their link.

  • Copy Invite Link: Click on the three dots next to their name and select "Copy Invite Link."

  • Exit Pop-Up Window: Close the pop-up window.

  • Timeline Actions: Click "Timeline Actions" and then "Text Updates."

  • Compose Message: Click the "Compose" button in the top right, select the recipient, paste your message along with the link in the text section.

  • Send: Click 'Send' to share the timeline link via text. Your recipient will receive a message that looks like this:

These options allow you to seamlessly share your event timelines in the format that best suits your needs.
