How to Change Checklist Group Titles in Timeline Genius

Guide to renaming groups in Timeline Genius: Create a new group, move tasks to it, and delete the old group.

At this time, Timeline Genius does not have the ability to change group names directly. However, you can easily work around this by following these steps:

Step-by-Step Instructions:

  1. Create a New Group:

    • Navigate to your timeline.

    • Click on the "Add" button.

    • Select "Task Group" to create a new group with your desired name

  2. Move Tasks to the New Group:

    • Go to the tasks you want to move.

    • Click on the three dots (⋮) next to each task.

    • Select "Change Task Group."

    • Choose the new group you created

  3. Delete the Old Group:

    • To delete the old group, first sort your tasks by task group to ensure you've moved all necessary tasks.

    • Click on the three dots (⋮) next to the old group's title.

    • Select "Delete."

Tips:

  • Ensure all tasks are correctly moved to the new group before deleting the old one.

  • At this time we do not have the "Change Task Group" option under the "Bulk Edits"

  • Make sure you are sorted by "Task Group" before deleting the task group. If your tasks are sorted by due date, the group names will not appear:
