Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a way to save a draft before generating a timeline? Yes, timelines in the Pre-Active tab act as drafts. You can save your progress and return to complete the timeline before generating it.

Pre-active timelines are draft timelines created when you start a new event or send the event form to a client. These timelines allow users to input details and make adjustments before finalizing the timeline, serving as a preparatory stage in the timeline lifecycle.

The Active tab represents the state where timelines are generated and ready for use. Once a timeline is moved to this tab, it indicates that all necessary details have been completed and the timeline is now live.

When you start a new event or invite your client to fill out the event form, Timeline Genius automatically creates a Pre-Active timeline. This draft will appear under the "Pre-Active" tab and stay there until you generate the actual timeline or checklist. To move a timeline from the Pre-Active tab to the Active tab, complete the form and click the “Generate” button. Once generated, the timeline will automatically move to the Active tab, indicating it is finalized and ready for use.

It’s your workspace-in-progress—nothing goes live until you're ready!

Limitations and Workarounds

  • No Reverse Transition: Once a timeline is generated and moved to the Active tab, it cannot be reverted to the Pre-Active tab.

  • Data Loss Risk: Deleting an active timeline will remove all associated data. Ensure you have a backup or are prepared to re-enter the details before proceeding.

Want to turn it into a full timeline? Just click into the event and generate the timeline when you’re ready 💪 This action finalizes the timeline and transitions it to the Active tab, where it becomes ready for use.
