Creating a checklist in Timeline Genius offers flexibility and efficiency in managing your event tasks. Here's a detailed guide on the various options available to create a checklist tailored to your needs.

Options to Create a Checklist

  1. Adding a Checklist to an Existing Timeline:

    • Access the Timeline:

      • Open the previously created timeline you want to add the checklist to.

    • Select the Checklist Tab:

      • Click on the "Checklist" tab at the top of the timeline interface.

    • Choose Your Option:

      • Use a Previous Checklist: Select this option to replicate and modify a checklist from a previous event. If you have purchased the Checklist Template Import service, your custom template will appear here once it has been built by our team.

      • Use a Template: Choose from a blank checklist or one of Timeline Genius's pre-designed templates.

  2. Starting a Checklist from Scratch:

    • Create a New Event:

      • If you don't already have a timeline for the client, click on "Create a New Event."

    • Select "Start with a Checklist":

      • In the setup options, choose to start with a checklist.

    • Choose Your Option:

      • Use a Previous Checklist: Select this option to copy and modify a checklist from a past event. Your custom imported template will also appear here once it has been added to your account.

      • Use a Template: Choose from a blank checklist or one of Timeline Genius's pre-designed templates.

  1. Purchase the service at this link.

  2. After purchase, you will receive a form to submit a PDF copy of your existing checklist. Our team will recreate it inside Timeline Genius for you.

  3. Once your template is ready, it will be added to your account. You can then access it by selecting "Use a Previous Checklist" when starting a new checklist on any event.

  4. Your custom template can be reused across as many events as you'd like going forward!

⚠️ Important: The upload form is only sent after purchase is confirmed. Please complete the purchase first before submitting your checklist.

⚠️ Important: When Is "Use a Previous Checklist" Available?

The "Use a Previous Checklist" option is only available at the time of checklist creation — either when starting a brand new event with a checklist, or when adding a checklist to an existing timeline for the very first time.

It is not possible to import a previous checklist into a checklist that has already been created. If you need tasks from a past checklist after your checklist already exists, you will need to add those tasks manually using the "Add" button on the Checklist tab.

💡 Pro Tip: If you want to use a previous checklist as your starting point, select "Use a Previous Checklist" before adding any tasks to your new checklist. Deleting existing tasks does not unlock this import option — it is only available when the checklist is first being created.
