TimelineGenius's Genie feature lets you import Wedding Party Contacts, Venue Contacts, or Vendor Contacts in bulk, instead of entering them one by one. Simply upload a file in whatever format you already have your contacts in, and Genie will automatically extract and add them to your timeline.
Why Use Genie
Manually adding contacts to your timeline one at a time can be slow, especially when you already have the information collected elsewhere. Genie speeds this up by reading your existing file and importing all the contacts at once.

Venue Contacts
Vendor Contacts
How to Use Genie
Open your wedding timeline.
Click the G icon in the bottom right corner of your screen to open the Genie.
Type a request describing what you want to do, for example: "Import Wedding Party contacts."
Either paste your contact information directly, or upload a file containing it. Genie accepts common formats such as PDF and Excel.
Click the up arrow (or submit) to send your file to Genie. You'll see a "thinking" indicator (three dots) while it processes your contacts — larger files may take a bit longer.
Reviewing Imported Contacts
Once Genie finishes processing, it will display the contacts it found, typically including:
Name
Role
Email
Telephone number
Genie will also flag anything that needs your attention, such as:
Contacts missing an email address
Uncertainty about whether additional contacts (e.g., extra bridesmaids) should be added
You can confirm whether to add the flagged contacts, and add any missing details (like emails) manually afterward.
Confirming the Import
After reviewing Genie's findings:
Respond to any clarifying questions Genie asks (e.g., confirming whether to add flagged contacts).
Confirm you'd like to add the contacts.
Close the Genie panel once the import is complete.
Your imported contacts — including name, role, email, and phone number where available — will now appear directly in the relevant section of your timeline.
