Invite a Client, Vendor, or Member of the Wedding Party to View or Edit a Timeline

Easily collaborate on timelines in Timeline Genius. Share, invite, and work together with clients and vendors for seamless event planning.

Updated over a week ago

Timeline Genius makes it easy to invite others to collaborate with you on your timeline. This way, you can work seamlessly with clients and vendors to create and edit timelines so everyone is on the same page for the event. Follow the steps below to get started:

  1. Navigate to the desired timeline and click on the “Collaborate” sub-tab.

  2. Click the settings icon to the right of the “Collaborators” label in the right sidebar.

  3. Click on the desired contact to send them an invite to collaborate, then click the “Done” button. This will send them an email with a collaboration link.

Once you've sent an invitation, you can view the status in the same section:

And you can also click on the 3 dots for more actions:

Inviting Clients and Wedding Party Members:

Once your clients receive their email invite, they can either click a direct link to access the timeline or they can activate their account.

It's important to note that clients do not have a login or portal to access their timelines directly. Instead, you can easily re-send them their invite link by navigating to the "Collaborate" tab within the timeline. This will ensure that they can access and view their timelines without any issues.

Inviting Vendors and Venues:

Vendors and Venues, on the other hand, have the option to create an account. Essentially all they have to do is set a password and click “Activate Account”. They’ll then have access to a “Shared With Me” tab in Timeline Genius where they can access the timeline that you shared with them.

Please Note:

Currently, we don't have a universal timeline link option. Each collaborator has their own unique link, which helps us track and identify the specific changes or edits made by each individual.

Typically, emails are delivered immediately. However, there could be a few factors that may delay the delivery or cause the email to land in the recipient's spam folder. We recommend double-checking the email addresses to ensure they are correct. We would suggest asking the wedding party to check their spam or junk folders and also add your email address to their contacts or whitelist to ensure future emails are delivered successfully.

Happy collaborating! 🤝
