Timeline Genius allows you to control what information you choose to share with your collaborators. For instance, maybe you only want your client to see certain timeline items – that way, they don’t become overwhelmed or confused by the full timeline that includes logistical, behind-the-scenes activities. Here’s how to let them view certain items and not others:
Navigate to your desired timeline and click on the “Collaborate” sub-tab.
Click on the desired collaborator name in the right sidebar.
Click the eye icon to the left of each timeline item and select “Viewable” or “Hidden” based on your preferences for that collaborator.
You can also select multiple timeline items to hide, click "bulk select" at the top, then select "manage access" to hide several timeline items at a time.
Lastly, you can also select multiple collaborators at one time to hide timeline items.
If you are a Mac user, hold the "command" button on your keyboard while you select the collaborators.
If you are an HP or other similar user, hold down the "control" button on your keyboard while you select the collaborators.
Then, once all collaborators are selected, you can proceed with hiding timeline items.
It is important to note that the "hidden" option is the only feature under the Collaborate tab that affects both the PDF and the online version of the timeline. You can find more info on that here.
